TASCS’s 2011 Texas Legislature Priorities
AUSTIN (November 12, 2010) – The Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society (TASCS) unveiled its 2011 Texas Legislature Priorities today. The identified issues will make sure that Texas patients continue having access to the safe and high-quality services produced by Texas ASCs.
"The state’s budget deficit and the state’s role in implementing PPACA will lead to a number of health care issues in the 2011 Texas Legislature,” TASCS Executive Director Bobby Hillert said. “TASCS will continue to work with lawmakers to give Texas patients access to ASCs.”
The 2011 priorities, which can be accessed at www.texasascsociety.org, include physician ownership, commercial insurance, workers’ compensation, accountable care organizations and increased taxes and fees.
TASCS will kick off the Legislature with the Annual State of the State Conference January 31 – February 1, 2011 in Austin.
