TASCS’s Annual Conference Review
FRISCO (November 13, 2009) – The Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society (TASCS) concluded its third Annual Conference and Trade Show with over 200 attendees and a sold out exhibit hall. The keynote speakers included Congressman Michael Burgess (R-Denton) and Joel Allison, president and CEO of Baylor Health Care System.
"We were fortune to have a very talented group of speakers who were able to give our attendees a glimpse into the future of Texas health care,” TASCS Executive Director Bobby Hillert said.

Keynote Speaker – Joel Allison
Joel Allison, president and CEO of Baylor Health Care System, provided attendees with his vision of what the Texas health care landscape could look like.

Congressman Michael Burgess (R-Denton) served as the keynote speaker at the TASCS reception. He discussed federal health care efforts.
Specialty Breakout Sessions
TASCS introduced a new concept at this year’s event – specialty breakout sessions. Each session featured physicians and other industry experts who broke down specific specialties that can be performed within the ASC setting. These included orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, spine and pain.

The Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society (TASCS) is the state organization that represents and serves the nearly 400 ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) in Texas. TASCS provides support and advocacy services to Texas ASCs. TASCS was founded in 2003.
