TASCS Hosts Successful & Safe Annual Conference

Last month, the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society hosted its annual conference in Fort Worth. For (10) years, TASCS has hosted this conference to educate and build connections within the healthcare community. This year, the conference faced a new challenge, with COVID and its variants, but the society made sure to provide masks, temperature-testing and other safety measures — including sponsor DisinfectWell’s disinfecting system — to create a comfortable environment for the 145 guests.

“Through the COVID pandemic, ASCs have demonstrated an incredible value to the healthcare model,” TASCS President Dr. Kimberly Persley said in her message to attendees. “I appreciate everyone’s support of this organization and their help to ensure we can continue to meet safely.”

Attendees were excited to get back to in-person meetups, and several expressed how much they had been looking forward to the conference. “I was so happy to be able to live again,” Tammy Stanfield, director or nursing at North Pines Surgery Center, said. “I looked forward to the conference and to the networking we got to do.”

Over the course of the two-day event, TASCS hosted presentations on topics like innovation, marketing, software and infection control. Between panels, attendees were able to mingle and speak to exhibitors to learn about new technologies and valued vendors in the healthcare world. “All of the exhibitor booths were my favorite,” Stanfield said. “I got to learn from those folks and see new products I wasn’t aware of.”

TASCS thanks everyone who helped make the event possible and looks forward to continuing to educate, connect and grow the TASCS community.
