Adam Hornback, the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society’s treasurer, attended The ASC Nurse Leadership Conference, where he picked up some useful tips and tricks during the educational and engaging event.
Last month, Progressive Surgical Solutions hosted The ASC Nurse Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. TASCS treasurer, Adam Hornback, attended the conference, which worked to bring three critical elements together: ambulatory surgery centers, nurses, and leadership. “At Progressive, we understand that ASC nurse leaders play a vital role in the overall success of your organization,” the brand’s website states. Therefore, the event helps nurses grow and improve processes, as well as maintain compliance and better support teams during these uncertain times.
The information was very relevant to the ambulatory care industry, Hornback explained. The speakers were well-informed and gave interactive talks that kept attendees engaged, such as allowing them to create their own QI study process. “They put on an excellent conference,” Hornback said.
The event lasted two days and hosted 10 different lectures that included panels and workshops about accreditation, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and several other topics that nurses could utilize to continue to develop in their leadership roles at their centers. The program was also approved for several different credit hours, such as AEU and IPCH credit.
“My favorite was Leveraging Financial Data to Drive Performance,” stated Hornback. “It was essentially going over reporting that was relevant for ASCs.” The speaker even brought up some tricks Hornback hadn’t seen before that would be useful for benchmarking and reporting.
Overall, the experience was educational and positive, and Hornback mentioned he would love to go again. By further empowering nurses, Progressive was able to host an event that will continue to help transform the ambulatory surgery culture for the better.
