Pre-Conference Event Will Focus On Educating New ASC Administrators In Texas

Due to the demands that come with running an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), the Texas ASC Society will be hosting an afternoon of networking and learning, specifically for these healthcare professionals.

The Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society’s (TASCS) annual conference is all about providing education, networking, learning, and marketing opportunities to the ambulatory surgery center industry, and we want to make sure all new ASC administrators have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.

This year, TASCS will have a pre-conference event dedicated to those who have just stepped into the role of running a surgery center. The job duties for these individuals can include:

  • managing day-to-day operations
  • staying informed on industry regulations, policies, and legislation
  • evaluating procedures and employees
  • and beyond

This half-day event, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, will cover all of this and more, ending with a reception. The conference will then run from Tuesday morning to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston.

Specific topics at the pre-conference event — made possible by The Joint Commission — include an intro to compliance, finance, and management; legal risks for leadership; and insurance 101. These discussions will help build the foundation new admins need in the booming field of ambulatory care. In fact, recent forecasts show that the ASC sector will see double-digit growth, growing 15 percent in the next 5 years and 25 percent in the next 10 years (via Vizient, Inc. and its subsidiary, Sg2).

To make the most of the advancements and to take advantage of further ones, TASCS is looking forward to equipping ambulatory surgery center administrators with the tools they need. Learn more/register here
