What Is The Texas ASC Society, And Why Should You Join?

What Is The Texas ASC SocietyFounded in 2003, the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society (TASCS) serves as the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) industry’s public policy advocate in the Lone Star State. Its mission is to provide education, offer regulatory information & resources, assist with operational optimization, and promote optimal & affordable surgical care for patients.

As a member-supported advocacy association, TASCS also:

  • provides state and federal legislative and regulatory advocacy

  • acts on behalf of Texas ASCs at the State Capitol and in Washington, D.C.

  • prepares, supports, and defends legislation related to healthcare and surgery centers at the Texas legislature

  • collaborates with other state ASC associations and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) on federal activity affecting all U.S. surgery centers

  • encourages private insurers and government payers to provide adequate reimbursement for procedures performed in surgery centers

  • serves as a resource for surgery center management and professional education

  • demonstrates to patients, payers, and physicians the value and quality that ASCs deliver every day

TASCS members are part of a community that cares. Regular events and constant communication allow professionals to network with and learn from one another. Tours hosted for agency personnel and state legislators help spread awareness on what ambulatory surgery centers are and how they benefit patients in Texas. These efforts lead to an ongoing relationship between the state, the ASC industry, and members.
