Susan Cheek has served as the Administrator of the Dallas Endoscopy Center and IV Anesthesia Services since 2006.Susan is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Healthcare Compliance Consultant and Certified Administrator Surgery Center.
A graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Accounting.

Dr. Persley has always had an interest in science. She studied at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and Mount Sinai Medical School. She had the opportunity to rotate with amazing gastroenterologists at Parkland Hospital and Dallas VA Medical Center as a medical student. She knew it was the right specialty. Her focus is on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and obesity.

Dallas Freyer has served as the Administrator of Corpus Christi Outpatient Surgery since 2004 and also serves as the Administrator of Surgicare of Corpus Christi. Dallas is a Registered Nurse and Certified Administrator Surgery Center.

A graduate of Del Mar College Registered Nursing program Dallas also serves on the Texas ASC Society Programs & Education committee as well as a board member on the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center PAC.

Adam Hornback, RN, CASCS

Adam is the Administrator of North Texas Team Care Surgery Center in Mesquite Texas since 2012. Adam is an operating room nurse who has been in the ambulatory surgery center environment for about 15 years.

 

 

 


Maggie Jefferies, MD

Dr. Jeffries is a private practice Anesthesiologist in Houston, Texas. She received her anesthesia training at Johns Hopkins University, during which she served as a Resident Member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the ACGME Resident Review Committee that reviews and certifies residency programs.

Following graduation, she became an Assistant Professor at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where she specialized in Pediatrics and Neuroanesthesia. During that time, she was an active contributor to diverse areas of research, including cerebral oximetry, post-dural puncture headache, infectious disease, and liver failure. She is a published author in several national journals, including Regional Anesthesia, Journal of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia, The Neurologist, and Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, The Neurologist, Liver Transplantation and Surgery, and Anesthesiology News.

In private practice since 2010, Dr. Jeffries has extensive experience in anesthesia for ambulatory and office based surgery. A partner in Avanti Anesthesia, she is active in all aspects of medical care including medical director, medication and equipment ordering, electronic documentation and quality improvement. Current projects for 2018 include a randomized trial of a new medication for sedation using the sublingual route.


Amy Kyle

Amy Kyle began her healthcare career as a facility accountant with USPI in 2001 before managing a business office at one of USPI’s top performing ASC’s in North Texas.  She then spent time traveling as an Internal Auditor before settling in Houston where she oversees the managed care responsibilities for South Texas and Louisiana.  


James McClung

James McClung is a Texas Nursing Board Licensed Registered Nurse. James has been in the nursing profession for 16 years and is the Nurse Administrator of Center for Specialty Surgery of Austin (CSSA. As the Nurse Administrator for CSSA, James enjoys creating and supporting a safe and efficient environment for our community. He supports ASCs because he feels they are a more personalized environment where each procedure is specialized and completed with the utmost care and sophistication.


Christina McDonald, MHA

Christina manages a multispecialty ASC with 3 operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms, and 30 employees and implemented a successful total joint program October 2018. 

She was named as one of the 40 Rising Stars Under 40 List in Becker’s ASC Review: 2013, 2014, & 2017 and has been a yearly speaker speaker at Becker's ASC October Annual Meeting since 2015. 

  



Akshay Tavkar, MBA, CMPE, CASC

Akshay is the Director of the largest licensed non-hospital free standing ASC in Texas. Recently completed a multimillion dollar renovation project in an ASC that performs nearly 25,000 procedures a year. Through the course of this expansion and remodel reaching 38,000 square feet, my team and I managed zero downtime for surgery and increased case volume and patient satisfaction scores.
